As part of QuickBooks UK’s annual SEO content strategy, I project managed the development of a Self Assessment tax calculator that helped self employed people get an estimate of the Income Tax they’d need to pay HMRC as part of their next tax return.
I wrote the copy and Meta Data for the calculator, targeting a number of high-volume key phrases, and worked with web designers and developers to make our vision a reality. The calculator was launched in time for the filing deadline for Self Assessment tax returns for the 2019/20 tax year.
Six months after launch, QuickBooks UK’s Self Assessment calculator is ranking for 260 keywords in the UK*, including ‘self assessment tax calculator’ (1,900 monthly search volume), ‘self employment tax calculator’ (1,600 monthly search volume), and ‘self assessment calculator’ (800 monthly search volume).
